Volunteers Needed ! To Work with Children with Special Needs In Forsyth County WHO? Volunteers can be college students, retirees, teens or adults who have a desire to work with children with special needs and horses. No experience is necessary. Training is provided to all volunteers. WHAT? Volunteers assist in leading the horse, assist the therapist with the therapy session and assist and support the clients and their families. WHY? Volunteers are a vitally important part of a hippotherapy program. For each therapy session there must be one side walker and one horse handler. Without volunteers, the program could not exist. WHERE? Our program is located on 6775 Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville, approximately five miles east of Hwy 400. WHEN? Volunteers are asked to commit to one or more hours per week. Regular therapy sessions are held between 9am and 5:30 pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays 9am-3pm HOW?
